CSS  Pep Band...

bringing school Spirit one note at a time!!!

Who got da funk... We got da funk!

Everyone knows that a school is nothing without Spirit!  The energy and excitement generated by an enthusiastic student body turns a school into something more personal.  The school becomes a place that you are proud to belong to... and a place that you want other schools to respect.   The pep band is a group that creates this electrifying atmosphere, and drives both the school and its teams on to victory.

What's the deal?

The pep band is BACK FOR MORE!  All Middle School and Upper School band students are asked to be a part of this awesome group.  Our schedule is simple, but we have a HUGE IMPACT on our school.  We perform together at school pep rallies, and we also perform at 5 basketball games.  That's it... plain and simple!

When does pep band meet?

As pep band season approaches, we mix things up a little in band, and learn some of the music during normal rehearsal time.  The only other time required of you is on the day of the game.

We rehearse a little before the games, then go out and play for the end of the JV/B team and throughout the Varsity "A" games.

What are some of the perks?

*The rest of the school will think you're cool and love you!

*You get to play some sweet music!

*For each game you attend and perform as a pep band member, you will earn a free practice record = 1 week's worth of practice!!!

*You get into the games for free!

*You help to establish school Spirit and Home Court Advantage!!!

What are the dates for the games?

 Pep Band Schedule:

2011/2012

Thursday January 26th... CSS vs Fountain Valley **Our Rival School!!!**

Saturday February 11th... CSS vs ECA **Senior Night!!!**

*** I understand that these games are scheduled during the school week, so there will be an organized study hall in the band room after school (supervised by Mr. Mo) for students who need to remain at school in order to participate.  Students who live close to school may want to go home an then return at the appropriate time.  A student may go to a friends house with written permission from his/her parents.  Dinner will be provided after school for the pep band students.

I do encourage all students (who have homework) to bring it with us to our seats during the game.  There is plenty of time during the game for homework to be completed. Please do not let these 5 games deter you from participating.  We need to be an ACTIVE and POSITIVE force that represents our school and the teams!

I hope that all of you will rise to the occasion and help to create the spirit that needs to live in the heart of this school and its students.  Band alumni and parents who feel that their musical "chops" are still in tact... and feel they can "hang" with us :) are also welcome to participate!

Thank you!

Mr. Moorhead
